Denmark to South Coast Norway

Outside Ribe cathedral are statues of some of the most important men in Ribe’s and Denmark’s history. The bishop Hans Tausen (left) a protagonist of the Danish reformation and Scandinavia's Apostle Ansgar. Prior to the 10th century the Danes still worshipped the Norse gods such as Thor and Odin but the catholic monk Ansgar obtained this land in Ribe from the Danish King Horik along with approval to build a catholic church.
